Description
Sun-Maid” draws inspiration from the Sun-Maid raisin packaging, with the replicated sun symbolising life, energy, spirituality, hope, and renewal. The artwork explores themes of temptation, innocence and knowledge, through its use of fruit. It also reflects the small, cult-like community on New Zealand’s west coast, serving as a feminist statement against the mistreatment of women and girls there. The central female figure stands strong, offering a quiet yet powerful protest for feminism.
